Jabz CEO talks pet pigs and why she wants to ‘be like a pineapple’
“I have a pet pig. His name is Hamlet; he’s the love of my life.” — Kimberlee White, Co-founder and CEO, Jabz Boxing
Who would play you in the biopic about your life?
Jennifer Aniston would be a good person to play me. Everything she’s been through, she’s really resilient. Just going through that divorce from Brad Pitt and everything else, and she’s continued to triumph no matter what’s thrown at her.
What’s your favorite franchise brand that’s not your own?
Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade. It started in Maui and is just starting to expand more here. They have all these craft lemonades, smoothies, acai bowls. When you walk in, it’s all Maui themed. It’s like an instant escape from the desert. I order the Blue Hawaii Bowl with extra mango, that’s my go-to.
What are you freakishly bad at (or good at)?
Something I’m freakishly good at is I can read backwards. I was a teacher and used to proofread a lot. It’s a hidden talent. I still use it for proofreading documents. And they call me the grammar freak around here.
What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out it wouldn’t be sold anymore?
I love Cinnamon Chex because they’re gluten free. I could probably eat a whole box in one sitting … oh, and the peanut butter one. All the Chex are gluten free, they’re rice cereal, which is great for people like me who are gluten free.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate, Hershey’s chocolate. Just a Hershey bar. I’m always grabbing that at the register just before checkout. It’s like I don’t really need this … but it’s right there.
What’s something not many people know about you?
That I have a pet pig. His name is Hamlet; he’s the love of my life. He just turned 5 and I got him when he was 5 months old. He’s an indoor pig, he roams the house, has his own bed. I don’t have children so he’s like my child. He started out as a micro pig and wasn’t supposed to get more than 40-50 pounds … he’s at 100 pounds but is still considered a miniature pig. He’s a very spoiled pig. I have two other dogs and he’s the boss.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Pickle ice cream … and it was not delicious. I was down in Mexico and my husband said hey you should try it. I absolutely love pickles, but pickles and milk don’t taste like anything you’d want to eat.

If you could be a member of any TV show family, which would it be?
I’d want to be a part of ‘Friends.’ Even though they’re not a family, they’re a family through friendship. I’d want to be part of the Green family; I could totally see myself as Rachel’s younger sister.
What superhero power would you most like to have?
I would like to be able to talk to animals. I love animals; I’d love to know what they were thinking.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
I was in a spin class one day and the spin instructor said, ‘Be like a pineapple,’ and I was like, what the heck does that mean? It’s to stand tall, be sweet on the inside but have a thick skin. That impacted me so much that I got a pineapple tattoo on the inside of my ankle. Then everybody started giving me pineapple things. So now I have a pineapple room in my house … it’s got a pineapple lamp, pineapple clock, pineapple quilt. Hamlet and I often sit in there for some chill time.
With whom would you most like to spend a day?
My Grammy. She died suddenly my senior year of college. I’d just like to talk to her and get some advice.
