Head-turning partnership for Snap Fitness and McGraw
Don’t try this at home: Country music superstar Tim McGraw shows off his workout.
You don’t send out photos of Tim McGraw doing handstands and crunches without a shirt and expect to be ignored by the press—and sure enough, Snap Fitness’s new partnership with the country music superstar and the fitness club called Tru Mav is drawing lots of attention. Snap Fitness, based in Chanhassen, Minnesota, announced a two-year partnership with McGraw that includes the development of several Tru Mav Signature Clubs. Tru Mav stands for True Maverick, which is how McGraw styles himself.
“At 49, the well-toned, high-energy celebrity has won three Grammy Awards and sold more than 45 million records in his ground-breaking career,” a Snap Fitness statement says about McGraw. “He sings the praises of regular workouts—and wants more people to have that opportunity, too.” Snap Fitness is a 24/7 fitness franchise with 2,000 clubs open or in development in 19 countries. The new Tru Mav clubs will be co-branded with Snap Fitness, and the first gyms will be corporate-owned with plans to franchise to follow. No word on how long it will take people to learn that crazy handstand, but our advice is to keep your shirt on until you’ve got it down.
