Ohio-based Wendy's is one of the largest burger chains in the world. Founded by the iconic restaurateur Dave Thomas in 1969, Wendy’s is named after a nickname for his daughter Melinda.
Thomas started franchising Wendy’s just a few years after opening its first location in Columbus, Ohio. It now has thousands of locations in the U.S., as well as units in dozens of other countries.
Wendy’s recently got on board with the on-demand delivery trend, partnering with DoorDash to provide U.S. customers with their food via a smartphone app. The chain has also started installing self-ordering kiosks in some of their locations for a more efficient customer experience.
