Development agreements
Noble Roman’s will open 19 units of its dual-branded concepts, Noble Roman’s Pizza and Tuscano’s Italian Style Subs, in California. The new units are slated to open during the next five years.
Theater Xtreme Entertainment Group, a retailer and installer of home movie theaters, signed an agreement with Badkhan Entertainment Group for a franchised unit in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta, Ga. The unit will open in December.
Mark Beierle is the newest area developer for Cousins Subs. Beierle plans to open 30 units in the southeastern Wisconsin and Rockford, Ill., areas, beginning with a unit in Kenosha, Wis.
Wingstop franchisee Jeff Worthen, joined by Great American Cookie franchisee Bryan Seldon and Subway franchisee David Weaver, will open 10 new Wingstop restaurants in East Texas. Two are slated to open this year, and an additional four will open in 2008.
Blue Moon Mexican Café signed its first franchisee. Luna Azul Investments LLC will open its first unit in Morristown, N.J. this fall.
Houlihan’s Restaurants signed an agreement with SunPacific Partners LP to open 22 units in California and Arizona by 2015. Current franchisee Northeast Casual Food LLC signed two separate agreements with Houlihan’s. The company will open 12 restaurants in Florida by 2016, and has already begun to open locations under its 12-unit deal for Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory signed an agreement with The Grove, a natural snacks retailer, to open chocolate factory stores in all U.S. airports where there are no Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factories open or in development. The Grove plans to open at least 10 stores during the next two years, and has already opened co-branded units in Dallas-Fort Worth International and Atlanta’s Hartsfield International airports.
Virginia Barbeque inked a deal with Delaware resident Dan Maher to open a dozen restaurants throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania. Maher’s first unit is slated to open in October in Middletown, Del. He plans to open at least four additional units and sell remaining territory locations to other franchisees.
CrêpeMaker, a hand-held crêpe concept, sold its first international franchise agreement. The agreement calls for 10 units throughout Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. The first location is scheduled to open in Honduras this fall. A Puerto Rican unit will open in the spring.
Sports Clips, a hair salon for men, plans to open 125 units by the end of the year. Wellington Franchise Systems, area developer for the concept in Orange County, Inland Empire and Southern Nevada, plans to have at least 10 units open by the end of 2007. Recent store openings include units in Lake Forest, Tustin, and Cypress, Calif.
