International Franchise Association convention coverage in pics

Halima Madjid, senior franchise paralegal with Plave Koch, left, and Lena Hamideh, a paralegal who works with Phil Zeidman at DLA Piper in Washington,
D.C., both had their law firm's logos "tattooed" on their arms at the Franchise
Times booth.

A tradition at the IFA convention is fun and games with the exhibitors, where vendors try to entice franchisors and franchisees into spending a little more time with them by offering drawings and games. David and Dawn Mlotkiewicz, franchisees of Lawn Doctor, didn't win the green-striped hats at the Luce, Smith Scott booth, but they did get to try them on.

Cheryl Babcock, director of the International Institute for Franchise Education at Nova Southeastern University was presented with the Crystal
Compass, recognizing extraordinary leadership at the luncheon sponsored by the
Women's Franchise Committee.

Stewart Hamel of ReachLocal challenges Holly Spears of FranchiseMonster to a game of Wii boxing at the ReachLocal booth during fun and games night.

Josh Chandler, left, and Steve Collins of Franchise Solutions donned their
coconut shell bras to go along with their tropical-themed game.

Cynthia Gartman with Country Place Living talks with franchise writer Julie Bennett at the opening session, just minutes before General Colin Powell took the stage.

Jeff Putnam, left, cameraman and CFO of Franchise Mama, an online social network for the franchise community, and CEO and anchor, Marcos Moura, filmed people for their Web site. You gotta love the tagline: "Cure for the Common Job."
