A new franchisor, the Flip Flop Shops, not only sponsored the badge holders, but handed out combs to remove wax from surfboards. The shops, which they refer to as Sunglass Hut for the feet, sell upscale flip flops from a number of brands. The store's tagline is: "Live, work, play with your toes exposed." Good advice to live by. Manning the booth were, left to right, Brian Curin, president; Darin Kraetsch, CEO, Sarah Towne, buyer; Todd Giatrelis, chairman; and Alan Woods, COO.

Mary Schrad holds the book she helped write for Contours Express, "Chicken Soup for the Soul Supplements." The book is sold to Contours members. "In our lives we concentrate too much on weight loss and not enough on the emotional gain of the process," the book's author said.

A mannequin demos the laser treatment at The Hair Loss Prevention Center's booth at the show.

Sales staff at Play N Trade, a video game retailer, donned black T-shirts with a graphic of a "Kick me" sign on the back. The significance of "kick me"?
"It made you stop and ask, right?" one of the booth jockeys replied.

Paul Allen, director of franchise sales for Woof Gang Bakery, handed out peanut butter treats for dogs and answered questions about the franchise which got its start in 2007. There are three corporate stores operating that serve hand-made, wholesome cookies—"gourmet dog treats made with love"— in retail locations.

Attorneys Adam Siegelheim, left, and Cary Kvitka of Stark & Stark in Princeton, New Jersey, were among a hefty contingency of lawyers who exhibited at the show.

When the television crew showed up early, Michele Fisher volunteered to let L.A. Sunset Tan Performance use her as a model for their portable spray tan machine. As you might imagine, the bathing beauty caused a sensation. Michele wasn't just a bystander, she's the wife of the company's attorney Lane Fisher.
