And it’s not just the franchisors of these concepts getting their names in boldface type—we introduce you to the franchisees, big and small, doing deals to watch.

CoreLife Eatery signed a new development deal that will bring 21 restaurants to Cleveland, Ohio, and several surrounding markets. Franchisee Billy Lewis, president and CEO of Red Letter Hospitality, plans to establish eateries in and around Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio as well as Erie and State College, Pennsylvania. Red Letter Hospitality is a management company providing strategic direction and shared services to operating entities. Lewis comes to Red Letter Hospitality from TreeHouse Foods, where he was senior VP and business leader of the condiments division. CoreLife also recently signed a 32-restaurant development agreement with The Jan Companies, a second-generation family business headquartered in Rhode Island. Franchisee William Janikies will develop locations in Florida, starting with the Carrollwood area of Tampa. The Jan Companies also operates 82 Burger King restaurants and has been a franchisee of Krispy Kreme, Popeye’s and others.
Dunkin’ Donuts signed a multi-unit store development agreement with new franchise group Hope and Destiny, Inc. to open three Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Kansas City, Missouri. Hope and Destiny, Inc. is led by Kenya native Villette Musalia, who has 16 years experience in the financial, title insurance and foodservice industries and previously opened her own company, Title Experts, which specializes in title and trust insurance. Under this new store development agreement, fellow franchisees Habiba Benatti and Osama Alnagar, each with 15 years of experience in the Dunkin’ Donuts system, will be relocating to Kansas City to launch and lead restaurant operations.
Massage Heights signed a deal with new area representative Maggie Walker to develop 10 locations throughout the Fort Worth market. She will also lead franchisee recruitment efforts for the brand in the region. Walker is a certified public accountant and has accumulated nearly 15 years of experience in the human resources and payroll departments of her existing business. Alongside her husband, she opened her first Sport Clips franchise location in 2004 and now has three locations throughout Texas.
Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs signed a master franchise agreement for its first international development overseas, with plans to open its first restaurants in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates within the next year. The deal with Brands and Trade Services covers the Middle East and North Africa region. Brands and Trade Services assists global brands in entering new markets. The company was founded by Alexander Pritz in Germany, and then expanded to Dubai with partners Rayan Fouad Azab and Mohammed IB Alawi. With multiple locations around the world, the company has a diverse portfolio of luxury retail and fashion brands including Bugatti, Lerros, Lingne St. Barth, and Suri Frey. Rayan Azab, a dual citizen of the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, is leading the Goodcents international expansion.
Mosquito and tick control franchise Mosquito Squad will launch operations in East Africa through a franchise agreement that covers Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. These are the first international markets for Mosquito Squad, which has more than 240 operating territories throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Local franchisee and Kenya native Fred Rariewa will initially focus development on Nairobi, Kenya. Rariewa is the founder of Pulse Experiential Group, a marketing agency based in East Africa that specializes in health education.
