FT Announces Dealmakers of the Year

Eleven companies landed awards in the first annual Franchise Times Dealmakers project, designed to recognize the boldest deals in franchising and share lessons learned by the people driving the transactions.

The 2013 winners are: Boyne Capital; Buckhead Investment Partners; Carrols Restaurant Group; The Cypress Group; Fleet Feet Sports/Investors Management; Metronome Partners; Monroe Moxness Berg; Roark Capital; Sun Holdings; Trinity Capital; and Smoothie King Systems.

A 16-person judging committee comprised of finance experts around the country selected the award winners from a field of 25 finalist nominations, which Franchise Times editorial staff narrowed down from several dozen entries. Criteria included complexity and strategic significance of the deals, impact of the deals on company performance, and demonstrated success in driving performance after closing.

Franchise Times will cover all award winners in a special editorial package in the April issue, and present the awards at a gala evening event at the Franchise Finance & Growth Conference, April 24 and 25 at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas. Several award winners will also serve as panelists April 25, where they will describe how they pulled off the year’s most audacious deals.

We at Franchise Times give a big salute to these 11 fearless financial powerhouses, and look forward to sharing their stories.
