React with shock to Wednesday’s news that Jon Jones, one-half of Saturday’s main event in Vegas, failed a drug test and has been pulled from UFC 200. Check.
Get an extremely large and detailed tattoo. Well, not yet, but nonetheless I’m ready to head to Las Vegas to experience UFC 200 this weekend, which has been described to me as “epic,” “ridiculous,” “massive,” “monumental,” “sick,” “a milestone,” “legendary” and more by superfans who came out of the woodwork when they learned I was invited to cover Frankie Edgar, a featherweight mixed-martial-arts contender who will fight on this Saturday’s card.
Edgar is also a new franchisee of a UFC Gym in New Jersey, hence the franchise connection and my ticket to experience something new. (That’s the whole point of being a reporter, after all, so count me in and count on me to report back to you, dear readers.)
