T-shirts from Franchise Brands Ship Out to Iraq

Published:

Not every thank you has to be a grand gesture. Sometimes showing appreciation to our military can be as simple as providing them what they ask for.

Attorney Lane Fisher of FisherZucker in Philadelphia saw a Facebook posting from someone in Philly saying she was assembling a care package for her friend’s son who was a Marine, serving in Iraq. The Marine was asking if someone might have seven T-shirts advertising local businesses they could send to his unit. While wearing camouflage can be trendy in the U.S., it get wear in order to have “a little piece of home.”

Fisher emailed a few clients and friends and asked them to send him a couple of T-shirts. Within hours he had T-shirts and promotional items from Philly Pretzel Factory, East Coast Wings, Planet Fitness, Auntie Anne’s and Belfor, plus swag from his own Franchise Unconference.

Fisher then located the woman who had posted the request on Facebook and delivered the items to her house. When he realized he had collected enough for $85 postage, he paid that as well.

The first package took three-and-a-half weeks to reach the soldiers, but as we write, hopefully the soldiers are wearing their little piece of franchising.

His reward?  Some day seeing one of his client’s T-shirts on a returning hero.
