Bartending with Friday's flair
Tony Adams was crowned "The Greatest T.G.I. Friday's Bartender in the World" at The Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The 25-year-old bartender from the Haymarket T.G.I. Friday's in London, won the title following an intense finals competition between eight bartenders from around the world. Nearly 8,000 Friday's bartenders from 60 countries entered this year's championship. The finalists competed over a weekend in a variety of skills tests and speed rounds. Each of the finalists reached Las Vegas by winning a series of local, regional, super-regional, divisional and national competitions. Friday's has held the competition since the 1980s. Besides bragging rights, Adams won $10,000 cash and a propeller with his name engraved on it to hang in his Friday's bar.
