Developed by Hospitality Solutions International, a subsidiary of MICROS Systems Inc., WS5 is designed to improve the functionality of MICROS' WePOS end-to-end sales software. It is also designed to improve system cooling and reduce hardware malfunctions.
Domino's Pizza installed Franchise Office System throughout its Dominican Republic franchise network; it is Domino's first international multi-unit system to receive the software. Made by Michigan-based Servant Systems, the application is designed to assist managerial operations, and will synchronize accounting information with Domino's system-wide, in-store order entry program, PULSE.
Uno Chicago Grill will now offer virtual gift cards on its Web site for use at both its flagship franchise and Uno Due Go. Powered by gift card company CashStar, the virtual cards come in denominations of $25 or $50 and are delivered via e-mail. The company will continue to offer a plastic gift card at its locations and Web site.
Viva McDonald's, McDonald's new tech-oriented restaurant concept, debuted six LED displays at its grand opening last December in Las Vegas. Made by South Dakota-based Daktronics Inc., the displays will greet customers, and are designed to help assimilate the franchise into Las Vegas' colorful landscape.
Gordon Biersch Restaurant Group completed installation of HotSchedules' Enterprise Edition employee management software at all 37 of its restaurants nationwide. The new software allows for Gordon employees to access and adjust their schedules anytime via their phone or the Web. Furthermore, it allows managers to completely customize work schedules, view sales data and keep track of corporate-wide communications. HotSchedules' clients include such brands as Outback Steakhouse and Jamba Juice.
