Rocketing into Indonesia
In a signing ceremony worthy of a star-studded red carpet moment, Johnny Rockets SVP of International Development Steve Devine and Wiryanti Sukamdani, a former member of Indonesia’s parliament and current president of the Indonesian Tourism Board, signed the franchise agreement during the Franchise Times/IFA/U.S. Commercial Service Trade Mission to Vietnam and Indonesia in early December.

The first Indonesian Johnny Rockets restaurant will open in the first half of 2012 in the newly constructed Beach Walk Center on the beach of Kuta Bali. The agreement also calls for four additional restaurants within the next five years.
The U.S. Commercial Service office in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, arranged for the signing ceremony which attracted a large contingency from the local media.
The ceremony set the stage for a day of meetings for the other 12 companies on the trade mission who were seeking partners to open their brands in the country of 170,000-plus islands.
The first Johnny Rockets will be located in the tourist-rich area of southern Bali, which is known for its night life and world-class shopping.
