Palm Beach Vapors Founder May Test Pot Sales

Chip and Cindy Paul are already wading into controversial territory with their new franchise, Palm Beach Vapors based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The retail stores sell electronic cigarettes, the subject of Food & Drug Administration scrutiny, health officials’ questioning and Big Tobacco competition.

But they’re already scouting for a site in Colorado, where they may test a separate business in an even more controversial substance: marijuana. Pot sales will be the next gold rush, Paul figures, as states look to join Colorado and legalize its sale—and collect the taxes—to offset declining tobacco revenue. He wants to be positioned as the leader when the time comes. Watch for an interview detailing his plans in the May issue of Franchise Times.
