WineStyles Franchisee Likes Concept So Much, They Bought it


Two franchisees of WineStyles, a retail wine-tasting concept they’ve operated for eight years, like the newly rebranded concept so much they’re purchasing the entire franchise system and will spend the next couple of years developing and rolling it out.

Andrea and Bryan McGinness purchased last week WineStyles, now called WineStyles Tasting Station, and moved its headquarters to West Des Moines, Iowa.

Along with Bryan’s brother, Jeff McGinness, who has joined the management team, they will manage day-to-day operations of nearly 50 existing WineStyles stores, while developing new and converting existing units into the WineStyles Tasting Station model.

“Both Andrea and I fell in love with the original concept nearly eight years ago when we opened our first store, and we’re thrilled to have taken over the franchise in its entirety,” said Bryan McGinness, CEO.

The WineStyles Tasting Station tries to give the feel of an “old-world wine cellar,” the company says. It features a full wine bar with dozens of wines by the glass and a selection of food, craft beers, fine chocolates, organic teas and gourmet coffee. The company is seeking single- and multi-unit operators with retail experience.
