Genghis Grill Contest Boosts Chain's Health, Too



Genghis Grill, the chain of 110 build-your-own stir-fry restaurants, is seeking applicants for its fourth annual Health Kwest, a contest in which each restaurant selects a winner to eat a healthy meal at Genghis Grill every day for 60 days, for free.

Applicants must apply by 11:59 p.m. Central Time January 25, at www.genghisgrill.com/healthkwest. Winners are selected based on percentage of weight lost and social media points earned—and that second point is where the marketing savvy for Genghis Grill comes in.

Sixty of 100 contestants last year finished the contest. They lost a total of 2,217 pounds and averaged a five percent weight loss. The campaign also generated more than 900 blogs and Twitter posts, 600 YouTube videos and more than 400 Instagram photos—a heaping plate of social media, indeed.
