Back to the Future for Edible Arrangements Founder

Published:

Tariq Farid

Tariq Farid, founder of Edible Arrangements, was a techie long before he started his fruit bouquet franchise. Now he’s returned to his roots by launching a new technology company, Naranga.

Naranga, officially launched at the end of last year, is the new name for eMaximation, which Farid bought earlier in 2014. The company offers software packages to aid electronic commerce, franchise sales and franchisee management, among other tasks.

“My passion has always been technology,” Farid told Franchise Times last August, and he operated a technology consulting company before starting Edible Arrangements in 1999. "We built 1,200 stores in 10 years. We took a system that didn't make any money and now it's a $500-million system."
