Multi-unit Signings for Blaze Pizza, Nekter in Deal Tracker
Blaze Pizza signed a multi-unit development deal with franchise operator Dianne Mayer, who will open six locations in Wisconsin throughout Madison, Appleton, Fox Valley and Green Bay. The first, a unit outside Fox River Mall in Appleton, is expected to open this fall. Before joining Blaze Pizza, Mayer developed her restaurant ownership expertise as a multi-unit franchisee for Culver’s. Adding locations since 2001, she now owns nine Culver’s restaurants throughout the Midwest.

Nekter Juice Bar signed a trio of multi-unit deals to open locations in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Kansas. 2nd Harvest LLC, led by Gerry Norman, Jon Norman and CJ Bouchard, will open five restaurants in Tennessee within the next two years. This is the same group that in September 2018 signed Nekter's largest area development agreement to open 30 restaurants in Florida, Maryland, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. In Pennsylvania, Val and Bob Cane will have a couple of units in the Blue Bell area. And Marissa and Raymond Anden signed a five-unit agreement for Kansas City, opening their first Nekter in Overland Park, Kansas, in May.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, the iconic San Francisco sandwich chain that began franchising in April, signed its first multi-unit development agreement for 10 locations throughout Utah and greater Las Vegas. Franchisee Freddy Smith is also the owner of Fabulous Freddy’s Car Wash locations throughout Las Vegas and Utah. Ike’s, meanwhile, has 55 company units open throughout California, Nevada and Arizona.
Rush Cycle, an indoor cycling concept, signed four multi-unit deals to expand in Florida, Texas, New Jersey and California. In Houston, Texas, Andrew Beaird will open nine studios. In Florida, Josh and Jamie Rabine have an agreement to open three studios in Parkland and Delray. Michelle Thorpe signed on to open three locations in Parsippany and Troy Hills, New Jersey, and in San Diego, California, Kelly Anastasia and Ian Dangler will open three.
I Heart Mac & Cheese will enter the Texas market following the recent signing of a four-store development agreement with Fidelity Enterprises LLC. The first of two College Station locations is expected to open in August, followed by Waco and Lubbock. The Fidelity Enterprises team includes two husband and wife duos, Thomas and Megan Doyel and Jerry and Laura Livingston. Thomas Doyel will handle the operations, having worked with numerous concepts in Texas including Raising Cane’s and Chipotle.
