Philip Zeidman, DLA Piper
Long-time Franchise Times columnist Philip Zeidman, a partner at DLA Piper in Washington, D.C., will receive a 2015 award for legal writing from the Burton Awards for Legal Achievement.
Awards will be given at a June 15 ceremony at the Library of Congress, featuring U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor as a guest speaker. This year marks the 16th annual Burton Awards, co-sponsored by the American Bar Association, with the Library of Congress.
Zeidman was recognized for his article, “With the best of intentions: Observations on the international regulation of franchising,” published in the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance.
Zeidman writes a column about international franchise law in every issue of Franchise Times. His May column, co-authored by Abhishek Dube, explained the impact of foreign investment law in India on U.S. franchisors looking to expand there.
