Tough Mudder Bootcamp Forges Ahead, Opens Flagship


In the six months since we brought you the story about rough-and-tumble Tough Mudder expanding into the fitness business, the brand has crossed some impressive milestones as it prepares to open its new flagship location in Massachusetts.

The brand’s flagship unit opens in Burlington, Massachusetts, this coming weekend. In addition, its Las Vegas location is set to open in July.

As part of the brand’s PR celebrating its fast unit growth, the company added that 70 percent of its franchisees open multiple units, which is encouraging but certainly not unusual in the world of franchised fitness.

Aside from updates in the technology used in its classes that are meant to prepare customers for an actual Tough Mudder fun run, the Bootcamp will be rolling out an anticipated 22 to 35 more units during the remainder of 2018. Some of its new destinations include Houston, Orlando, Long Island, Northern California and Westchester, New York. Will Dean (right) founded Tough Mudder in 2009 and is CEO.
