Culver's Owner Pays Out-of-Work Employees From His Own Pocket

Published:

Amidst a ground swell of employers who grumble about health care costs and minimum wage hikes, one restaurant business owner put his money where his mouth was in terms of employee "benefits."

When a fire destroyed Bruce Kroll's Culver's restaurant in Platteville, Wis. earlier this year, it left 40 employees out of work for six months. Instead of asking them to find employment elsewhere, he paid them their normal wages from the profits of his other Culver's in Iowa.

Here's the TV report we found online. No political sniping here. Just a feel good story that we can all use, every once in a while. http://bit.ly/1qKPOLo
