High Times as FT Prepares News-Packed Top 200+

Published:

Our annual ranking of the largest 500 franchises has a new logo this year, too.

What takes five months to research, eight researchers and writers to report, and 500 franchise brands with up to 15 data points each to compile? The Franchise Times 200+, our annual ranking of the biggest brands in franchising, ranked by worldwide sales.

We at Franchise Times are in the final stages of our biggest project of the year, preparing to present it to you, dear readers, in our October issue. Here’s what readers can expect:

Nine companies are new to the list and debuting in the top 200, including Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Jackson Hewitt, Berlitz and Friendly’s. One company, Marco’s Pizza, zoomed up from No. 207 to No. 180 and thus is making its Top 200 debut.

Anytime Fitness is our biggest mover this year, jumping 23 spots to No. 91.

A six-figure investment by BrightStar Care a few years ago is yielding results today, with the healthcare franchise posting 15 percent growth in revenue and 11 percent growth in units.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, meanwhile, pushed revenue up a whopping 43 percent, leading the pace in the fast-casual space, and its irreverent CEO Roland Dickey Jr. details how he did it.

Plus we’ll reveal what amounts to an economic bombshell among our top 10 franchise brands.

There’s more, much more—so much more that everyone around Franchise Times these days is swimming in data and starting to see things. We’re excited to bring you all those numbers, and more importantly, explain how the CEOs of the fastest-growing brands are driving those results, in the October issue. Meanwhile, if you reach us on the phone and we seem a little punchy, now you know the reason.
